Two St. Thomas Cardinals 10U Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against Stouffville Yankees
St. Thomas Cardinals defeated Stouffville Yankees 15-0 on
Saturday on the backs of Nathan W and Cooper H as the two pitchers combined to
throw a 2-hit shutout to open our tournament in Dorchester.
The Cardinals came out firing on all cylinders in the first,
with our first four batters taking might swings and getting on base – the Cardinals
cashed 5 runs in the first inning. Once
given the lead, Nathan cruised, trusting what was sterling defense from all the
players in the field.
Then in the third, Chase C got the party started with a hard single to start an inning that saw 13 batters travel to the plate, leading to eight runs in the third inning. Gabe L, Kaden L, Cooper, Zephyr H, Nathan W, and Chase C all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Tayven B, Hayden B, Parker V, and Cameron M chipped in throughout the game with either big hits or big time defensive plays! Great team effort!
Nathan earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for St. Thomas Cardinals 10U. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Cooper threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Cooper recorded the last three outs to close out the shut out for the St. Thomas Minor Mosquito’s
