St. Thomas Cardinals 10U Defeats North London Monday Night 11-1
Thanks to Second Inning Boost
St. Thomas Cardinals 10U defeated North London 11-1 on Monday thanks to a timely six runs in a big second inning. Parker V, Zephyr H, Nathan W, Tayven B, and Chase C all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
St. Thomas Cardinals 10U started rolling at bat in the first inning, when Luke T doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
While the at bats were solid through the 5 inning game, the same accolades could be said about the pitching performance.
Nathan W started the game off for the Cardinals, going 4 strong, allowing two hits and one run over four, striking out one and walking zero.
Tayven threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Tayven recorded the last three outs to earn the save for
St. Thomas Cardinals 10U. No walks, no errors, 42 pitches over 5 innings of work - marvelous job by the Cards!
The best phase may have been on the defensive side though - Infield was Dynamite, with Luke T, Luke O, Tayven B and Kaden L making plays left and right. Not to be outdone, our outfielders made some key catches, with quality relays in with Hayden B, Zephyr H, Gabe L, Cooper H, Cam M and Parker V sharing the duties in the OF. As usual, our catcher Chase C was rock solid behind the plate. All 12 Cardinals played a key role and did their job!
The win moves the Cardinals to 4 and 1 on the season in league play and 10-4 overall - off to a strong start! Next up, the Ilderton Athletics visit St Thomas Wednesday June 13th at 6:00pm at New York Central - will be a great game!
