Major Rookie '08, 2017 (St. Thomas Minor Baseball)

It is my pleasure, on behalf of the 2017 St. Thomas Major Rookie Cardinal players, coaches and the organiziation, to pass along our sincerest thanks to Mayor Heather Jackson and the City of St. Thomas Council Members, Jeff Yurek, MPP and his local office, and Karen Vecchio, MP and her local office for the acknowledgment, kind words, and support of these young athletes and their outstanding achievement.

An unbelievable season capped off by an unbelievable weekend with The 2017 St. Thomas Major Rookie Cardinals walking away from Chatham as Ontario Baseball Association's Major Rookie Champions!

The 9U St. Thomas Major Rookie Cardinals finished off the regular season securing the 2nd seed in LDBA.  It was a great regular season, resulting in a 19-3 regular season record.  This team works hard and has each other's backs at all times, and they have a lot of fun doing it!   On Friday August 25th, we start the home stretch of the season, starting with the LDBA Playoffs - first game is Friday night @ 6:00pm - at New York Central.   Come cheer on the Major Rookies as they start their league playoff journey!  GO CARDS!

St. Thomas Cardinals 9U and Dorchester Diamondbacks played a taut affair on Tuesday, but St. Thomas Cardinals 9U eventually prevailed 29-15 after taking the lead for good in the third inning. The game was tied at nine with St. Thomas Cardinals 9U batting in the top of the third when the Cardinals broke it open and did not look back.  St. Thomas Cardinals 9U was boosted by Chase C who went 5-for-5 at the plate, with 2 Triples, a Double and 7 RBI's, by Tayven B, Nathan W and Kaden L, whom all also went 5-for-5 in the game.  Chase singled in the first, tripled in the second and third inning, ...

In the first game of a 3 game week, the Cardinal's gloves showed up in a sterling defensive effort, defeating the Wyoming Wranglers 15-0 at New York Central Monday night.  After a quiet start, the St. Thomas Cardinals Major Rookies scored 4 in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd and 7 runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Ty T, a triple by Zephyr H, a single by Kolton B, and a double by Chase C.  St. Thomas Cardinals 9U collected 27 hits, and their defence allowed 5 hitters all game.
