St. Thomas Cardinals 9U Fights Back in Loss to London West Tincaps
Despite an 8-run deficit in the fourth inning, St. Thomas Cardinals 9U almost came all the way back, eventually falling 10-8 to London West Tincaps on August 1st. St. Thomas Cardinals 9U scored six runs in the failed comeback in the top of the 7th inning RBI singles by Tayven B, Luke T, Parker V, Cameron M and Luke O. It was a tight game until the Tincaps broke it open, scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 10-2 lead on their home diamond. From there, the Cardinal Defense rose to the occasion shutting them down, and the bats came alive in a battle between the top to teams in LDBA. Luke T collected four hits in defeat.
Despite the loss, the Cardinals ended up pounding out 28 hits with every player getting on base. Luke T, Kolton B and Tayven B paced the team with 4 hits, and Cooper H helped the cause in a big way with key basrunning - scoring three times.
Luke, Kolton B, Tayven, Chase C, Cooper, Parker, Hayden B, Nathan W, and Kaden L each collected multiple hits for St. Thomas Cardinals 9U. Luke T had 4 RBI's to lead the way with Tayven B adding 2 more. It was a great ball game by both squads! Next up, the Major Rookie Cardinals head to LaSalle to compete in the Green and Gold Classic!
