St. Thomas Cardinals 9U Win in a Walkoff Victory Over the Dorchester Diamondbacks
A walk-off double led St. Thomas Cardinals 9U past Dorchester Diamondbacks 12-11 on Saturday in the second half of the double header. The game was tied at 11 with St. Thomas Cardinals 9U batting in the bottom of the seventh when Parker V doubled, driving in Tayven B for the winning run. Despite falling down by four runs in the sixth inning, Dorchester Diamondbacks tried to fight back. Dorchester scored four runs in the inning to tie the game in the top half, before the clutch hitting by Tayven, Luke T and Parker sealed the Cardinals 14th win of the season. It was a back and forth game throughout. Dorchester really flashed some leather as the Cardinal bats stayed hot from the first game.
St. Thomas Cardinals 9U collected 34 hits. Tayven, Luke T, Parker, Kaden, Kolton, Hayden B, Nathan W, Cameron M, Cooper H, and Luke O each collected multiple hits for St. Thomas Cardinals 9U. Tayven went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead St. Thomas Cardinals 9U in hits. Luke O was clutch, with a massive 3 run HR in the 5th to give the Cards a 1 run lead heading into the 6th. Luke had 4 RBI to pace the team, Parker V and Kaden L each had 2 RBI, and again, every Cardinal batter either scored, or drove in a run. Great swinging Cardinals!
The win has the Major Rookies sitting at 14-2 for the season. Next up, we travel to London West to face off against the tincaps on Aug 1. Let's go boys!
