Major Pee Wee '01, 2014 (St. Thomas Minor Baseball)

Well our first tournament is in the books and it was certainly a success. With next to no workouts prior to this weekend, you would of thought different. The athletes battled all weekend making big plays on the diamond and coming up with some big hits. Friday night was certainly a test coming up short losing by one run. Saturday morning we had a shaky first inning falling behind, then settled but just couldn't get sticks going losing 11-3. The late game Saturday not only did the athletes stick well the defense started to gel coming up with some big plays......we won that game 11-6. ...

Finally our first game is in the book, and what a great game it was. Your St. Thomas Major Peewee team took the lead early and carried that lead until late in the 6th, going into the 7th down 1. All around with the sticks, pitching and defense the coaching staff could not of asked for more!! Reid Schantz took the mound pitching a gem, with an awesome outing from catcher Daryn Olyschlager throwing out 2 at third and another at second. #cardsball
