League Play Struggles

The Optimist Mosquito Cardinals are a Jekyll and Hyde ball club. The team in Tournament play is an impressive 7-2. But the struggles continue in LDBA Play where they sit just 5-9-1.

Their latest defeat came at the hands of the London West Tincaps. A well pitched and defensive game took just one hour and twenty-seven minutes for seven complete innings, but it ended ina  6-2 loss.

The bats have been silent of late and although they did have runners on base, the timely hit just wasn't there.

Silas Hulst delivered a 2-3 (single, triple) performance with a rocket shot to the wall in right field. Four others reached base twice (Loebach, Mosher, Foshay, and Jackson Lale) showing the chances were there, but they just couldn't convert. Jamie Noviss was great on the mound again, delivering 2.2 innings of scoreless relief allowing just one hit.

The boys have 3 games this week, with the Oakridge Tournament coming up later this month.
