Major Mosquito '03, 2014 (St. Thomas Minor Baseball)

The Optimist Major Mosquito Cardinals season came to an end with a quarterfinal exit at the Ontario Playoffs in Chatham. 

The St. Thomas Optimist Mosquito Cardinals only had so much fuel in the tank on day two of the LDBA Playoffs. After a pair of wins to open the tournament, the gruelling schedule caught up to them during the rest of Saturday.  In the end, the back to back to back games, and facing the top seeded Chatham Diamonds in the quarter final was too much to overcome. 

It was a dominant pitching performance. Silas Hulst went the route on the bump in a 14-0 shutout of Dorchester. 

A night after a 19 run win, the Cards hit the highway for a road game in Chatham looking to make it two straight wins. But things didn't quite go as they had hoped. 

It was just one of those nights. Balls were hit hard, and the ones that weren't still found a way to drop. When it was all said and done the Optimist Mosquito Cardinals had 26 runs on 26 hits.
