One Hit Wonder
It's a game the Optimist Mosquito Cardinals would soon like to forget. Hopefully it's already forgotten. The Sarnia Braves came to town, and clobbered the Cards 17-2.

The first five batters of the game all scored for the visitors, and it didn't get any better from there. The Braves' were able to "hit 'em where they ain't" all morning, and when the ball was hit to a fielder, it was either booted or not hit hard enough to make an out.
But it didn't matter how many runs the Braves scored, because the Cards managed just one single hit over five innings against Sarnia's two pitchers.
The loss drops St. Thomas' record to 5-8-1 in League play, but still a respectable 12-10-1 overall.
The boys have a chance to get right back in the win column when Dorchester visits New York Central Monday night. On paper it should be a win for the boys (against a one-win team) but with their inconsistent play of late, and just one home victory in eight tries this season, nothing is guaranteed.
