Formet loses nail-biter 7-6 to cross-town rival
Despite strong pitching, St. Thomas Formet lost to its cross-town rival St. Thomas Briwood 7-6 Monday in second-round mosquito west playoff action in Mt. Brydges.
Scott Marchand was terrific on the mound for the Formet Big Red Machine, giving up a lone run through three innings of work.
Baileigh Richman was tremendous behind and at the plate. He belted a sold triple in the fourth inning that scored two runs for Formet.
Briwood scored six runs in the fifth and final inning - led by a grand slam blast by Chase Crawford - to pull out the victory.
St. Thomas Briwood is on to Wednesday's championship.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Formet plays DKMB Tuesday for the right to join Briwood in the division title series.
