St. Thomas Briwood will play for the LDBA mosquito house league city championship Wednesday (Aug. 15) in Komoka in a single, winner-take-all match vs. the EBBA Astros. First pitch is at 6 p.m.

St. Thomas Briwood capped its undefeated playoff run with a 5-1 victory Wednesday over DKMB in the London District Baseball Association (LDBA) mosquito west division A championship in Komoka.

A game-winning grand slam by Chase Crawford in the bottom of the fifth and final inning powered St. Thomas Briwood to a 7-6 victory over its cross-town rivals St. Thomas Formet Monday in Mt. Brydges. Formet pitcher Scott Marchand was lights out through three innings of work, giving up a lone run as Formet took a 6-1 lead into the fifth inning. Briwood's Dale Barrett was also strong on the mound, giving up just two runs through three innings of work. Caleb Pennings was St. Thomas Briwood's MVP in a 14-13 victory over Oakridge in their A group playoff opener Sunday in Delaware. On the mound, Pennings gave up just one earned run in three innings of work. At the plate, Pennings drove in three runs to pace his first-place team to victory. Monday in Mt. Brydges at 6 p.m., St. Thomas Formet will take on its cross-town rival St. Thomas Formet. The winner advances to Wednesday's championship game.
