Peewee Playoff Rules
The following are the peewee house league rules for the 2017 playoffs in St. Thomas:

1. GAME TIMES - Game times will be the same as in the regular season — Maximum 7 innings and no new inning can start after one hour and 45 minutes of play. At 2 hours and 15 minutes the game stops dead and the final score will be the score after the last completed inning. The only exception for the playoffs is games either tied at the end of 7 innings or tied when the time limit is reached. Tie games will continue until there is a winner. The minimum innings for an official game are: 4 1/2 innings for a home lead and 5 innings for a visitor lead.

2. MERCY RULES - Normal mercy rules apply. All innings are capped at a seven run maximum. If a team has an 18-run lead after 3 innings the game is over. If a team has a 10-run lead after 5 innings, the game is over.

3. HOME TEAMS - The home team throughout the playoffs will automatically be the team that finished higher in the regular season standings

4. GAME BALLS – St. Thomas Minor Baseball will provide all tournament game balls.

5. RECORDING AND REPORTING SCORES AND PITCH COUNTS – The home team is the official scorer and the visiting team keeps the official pitch count (though it’s advisable for both teams to keep score and pitch counts as a backup source in case there’s a disagreement later).

The home team is required to email or text the convenor (Dave Briggs) scores immediately following the game and the home team must supply the complete list of pitchers, including: Full name, number and number of pitches thrown.

I will be posting the pitchers used on the website for all to see.

6. PITCH COUNTS

The limits are the same as in the regular season. Maximum 80 pitches a day (unless you’re using a mosquito call up and then the maximum is 70). A pitcher that throws 55 pitches or more in a game (45 if the player is mosquito aged) cannot pitch the next day. Rookie ball call-ups are not allowed to pitch at any time. On days in which teams play more than one game:

55 pitches is the threshold for not being able to pitch in a subsequent game that day and on the next calendar day.

A pitcher that throws 55 or fewer pitches COMBINED between game 1 and game 2 may pitch in game 3 that same day.

Any pitcher that throws more than 55 pitches in game 1

or more than 55 pitches total combining the number of pitches thrown by that played in both games 1 and 2

or does not pitch in game 1, but throws more than 55 pitches in game 2

cannot pitch in game 3.

The daily maximum is still 80 pitches counting all games.

Examples:

If you pitch 80 in game 1 you’re done for that day and the next.

If you pitch 45 in game 1 and 35 in game 2 you’re done for that day and the next

If you pitch 20 in game 1 and 15 in game 2, you can pitch the next day

If you pitch 20 in game 1 and 15 in game 2, you can only pitch 45 more in game three to reach a total of 80.

7. PITCHERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO THROW CURVE BALLS AT ANY TIME

8. No metal cleats may be used

9. Teams are required to play with at least 7 players, but will not be penalized for playing playing with 7 or 8 players (meaning the team short players will not be given automatic outs).

10. ROSTERS: Players cannot be called up from competitive rosters or from house league teams in the same division (i.e. St. Thomas Rotostatic cannot use players from St. Thomas Ron’s Auto Service).

All players on the roster must be in the lineup and both bat and play in the field. No player can play the entire game in the outfield unless they choose to do so.

11. A player cannot be both a pitcher and catcher in the same game.

12. All other 2016 Peewee HL rules remain the same as indicated here:
