Nathan D was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond in Game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader to kick of the 12U Cardinals abbreviated season, driving in five on three hits to lead St Thomas Cardinals 12U past Cambridge Cubs 12U AA 12-5 on Saturday. Nathan drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the third, and a double in the fifth.
Cambridge Cubs 12U AA scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning, but St Thomas Cardinals 12U still managed to pull out the victory. St Thomas Cardinals 12U opened up scoring in the first inning, when Nathan doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. The Cardinals 12U tallied four runs in the third inning.
