OBA Playoffs
The Optimist Major Mosquito Cardinals season came to an end with a quarterfinal exit at the Ontario Playoffs in Chatham.

The boys began the tournament with a Friday night 9-5 victory over Simcoe, putting them in the winners bracket. Saturday morning they followed that up with an impressive 9-2 win over a very good Stratford team.
But their second game on Saturday proved to be their undoing. Facing Aurora (a team the coaches feel we were better than) nothing went right. All balls were hit right at defenders, and it was just the wrong time to play their worst offensive game of the year. Instead of advancing to Sunday play, the Cards found themselves in an elimination game just an hour later.
Their opponent, the same Stratford team they had beat earlier in the day. Things went wrong right from the opening pitch, and 8 runs later the game was pretty much out of reach in just the first inning.
A disappointing loss, but overall a great season.
