The St.Thomas Optimist Minor Rookie Cardinals closed out their LDBA regular season with a double header against Sarnia at New York Central under the lights.
The first game found the Cardinals down by 2 going into the bottom of 7 but couldn't close the gap and lost 14-12. Between games the Cardinals enjoyed their break with Pizza and snacks and Game 2 started with both teams lining the baselines for the National Anthem, Unfortunately our between game activities might have been a little much for the Cardinals dropping Game 2 21-13 to the first place Braves. The kids enjoyed the experience playing under the lights, with thanks going out to Lori Walcarius for managing the announcing and walk up music, all the Parents and Grandparents for the pizza, snacks, and beverages between games, the fans that helped fill the park, and to the Sarnia Braves for making the trip down. The Cardinals managed a 4th place finish in LDBA regular season and are looking forward to next weekends playoff tournament with a possible upset of the top 3 teams.
