Rematch with Sarnia
After a loss at last weekends Cardinal Classic to Sarnia the Minor Rookie Cardinals were looking forward to tonight's rematch. Saturday we found ourselves down 15-0 after 3 innings but the kids battled back to a 20-17 loss in 7 innings and we're looking to build on that.

Tonight's game started after a quick rain delay, tonight the defence showed up early ending 3 of the 4 innings with double plays. 2nd inning ended with a line out to pitcher Jeryn Sutton who turned to get the runner off first. Sarnia returned to the plate in the 3rd scoring 4 before SS James Whitchurch took a ground ball up the middle turning the 6-3 double play with a good squeeze at 1st base by Nash Coombs after a collision with base runner. Top of 4th we were still down 4 and Sarnia pressing unfilled a line shot to Ryan King at 1st doubling up the base runner. The Cardinals went to the offence scoring 2 in the fourth with the bases still loaded and no outs before some heavy rain and lightning ended the game early.

The team is improving every time they get together, looking like they will have good season ahead. Thursday night will find the Cardinals on the road to take on the Tin Caps in their home park.
