The minor mosquito CARDINALS traveled to Chatham this weekend and competed in their second tournament in as many weekends. The Cardinals started the weekend off with a big win over St. Catherines 18-2. Saturday morning saw a familiar face in the next dugout with Oakridge looking over. The boys fought hard to the end of the game coming out on top with a 17-7 victory. After a great team lunch and bonding the Cardinals came out strong and played Walker Homesites to a 5-5 draw, their efforts in the round robin had them first in their pool and playing St. Catherines in the semi final.
Sunday morning started out slow on the bats but with great defence and determination the boys came together and put up a 13-7 victory and sent them to a winner take all final against the host Chatham Diamonds. The game started with the sun shinning and the Cardinal parents cheering them on. The boys came out with one thing on their minds.....WIN.
AWESMAZING team play and team commitment had the Cardinals finishing the tournament on top and celebrating the championship together.
Great job boys! You brought your "A" game and played your game.
