in the bottom of the third when Tayven B doubled on a
1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Tayven collected four hits in four at bats to help lead St. Thomas Cardinals 10U to victory. Tayven singled in the 1st and 2nd, then doubled in the 4th and 5th innings. The Cardinals scored seven runs in the fifth inning to put this game out of reach. Some big clutch RBI hits by Tayven, Chase C and Cameron M. Cameron and Tayven had big nights at the plate with 5 RBI's each, with Chase, Gabe and Parker picking up multiple RBI as well. Every player reached base in this game!
On the mound, Cameron M had a great start, starting the game for the Cardinals. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one, all on 17 pitches! Hayden B had the victory on the mound, allowing zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one in his pitching debut. Gabe recorded the last three outs to earn the save for St. Thomas Cardinals 10U.
St. Thomas Cardinals 10U racked up 12 hits on the day. The pitching was stellar, but the Cardinal D didn't commit a single error in the field. The Card's trotted out 10 different infielders, and all had to make a play at one point! Incredible job to the boys! This was a great win in a great game against a formidable London Tecumseh team that boasted a great rotation. We even had a player trot off the field after losing a tooth while defending!
Next up, our host tournament the Cardinal Classic kicks off Friday at 4:00pm at the Doug Tarry Complex. The Minor Mosquito Cardinals kick off against the Guelph Royal's T2 squad!
